Wood Flooring in Billericay

Floors for Billericay Properties

LIGNORA supplies wood floors across Billericay (CM11 and CM12) — covering inter-war and post-war family homes, Victorian properties in the town centre, and newer residential developments in the surrounding area. We post free samples anywhere in Billericay and talk through your subfloor before you order.

Billericay's family housing market typically requires floors that work well in open-plan kitchen-diner extensions — wide-plank straight-lay connecting the existing house with the addition is the most popular brief.

The most popular floors in Billericay are wide-plank engineered oak in extensions and open-plan spaces, herringbone in period hallways, and natural oil finishes. Every order comes with full care and fitting guidance. Lead times from 2–3 weeks for pre-finished stock; 8 weeks for bespoke made-to-order floors.

Common Questions

Do you deliver to Billericay?

Yes. We deliver the full collection to Billericay and across Essex by pallet, with free samples posted first. Want it fitted too? Tell us about your project and we'll talk you through the options. We respond to every enquiry within one working day.

Is the floor compatible with underfloor heating?

The short answer for Billericay homes is yes: engineered oak performs reliably over underfloor heating. We specify 14–18mm boards for the best balance of warmth transfer and stability. Solid wood is the one thing we rule out, and we confirm every spec in writing before you order.

Can I use my own fitter?

Yes. We'll recommend the right adhesive, underlay and trims for your subfloor, and send the technical sheets your fitter needs before the floor arrives.

Billericay homes and their floors

Billericay has a historic High Street with timber-framed and Georgian buildings, inter-war and post-war family homes across the town, and newer developments around the edges, popular with commuters on the line into London Liverpool Street.

Inter-war houses often have suspended floors at the front and extensions on concrete, while post-war and newer homes have concrete ground floors suited to engineered oak glued or floated. Mid-tone and natural oaks with practical finishes are popular in family homes.

Wood floor installation in Billericay

You can order supply only and use your own fitter in Billericay, or tell us about your project if you would like it fitted. Either way, this is how a wood floor should go down, and we give your fitter full technical guidance.

Survey and moisture checkMeasure every room and moisture-test the subfloor before ordering. A screed or slab that is too damp needs damp proofing first.
Subfloor preparationLevel and repair the subfloor and add a damp-proof membrane or primer where needed. Let the boards acclimatise in the room for two to three days before fitting.
The right fitting methodFull glue-down suits screed and underfloor heating, floating installation suits some subfloors with the right underlay, and secret nailing suits timber joists. Parquet floor installation should always be glue-down.
Skirting, trims and thresholdsMatching skirting boards, thresholds, trims and stair nosings make the job look finished, and we can supply them on the same delivery.
Specification in writingWe put the recommended adhesive, underlay and fitting method in writing with your quote, so your fitter has everything they need.
