Ochre Oak is an engineered European oak floor, supplied at 14mm × 90mm × 400mm in classic grade. In tone it reads as a lightly smoked, earthy golden oak with a wax-oiled finish. The light smoked, brushed & wax oiled finish sets its character underfoot. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is laid board by board by our own installation team across London and the South East, and supplied throughout the UK.

Herringbone rewards patience in the laying, and these 90mm blocks are cut for exactly that — crisp points, tight joints, a floor with rhythm. Classic grade sits in the middle of the tree's character — some knots and movement, but measured, so the floor feels natural without shouting.

The finish, and living with it A floor is its finish as much as its tone: here the light smoked, brushed & wax oiled treatment sets how Ochre Oak handles daily life. Hardwax oil gives the warmth of an oiled floor with tougher day-to-day resistance; worn areas can be refreshed locally without sanding the whole room.

It stands up well to real family life; deeper wear in later years is dealt with by re-finishing rather than patching. Underfloor heating is no obstacle — the boards are rated for it and hold their shape as the seasons turn.

Rooms it suits, and the next step We fit it most often through hallways, reception rooms and kitchens — anywhere the pattern can run and be seen. See more on our herringbone flooring in London page. It belongs to the Timeless Line. If you are shortlisting, put Cove Oak and Shell Oak beside it for comparison.

Before anything is ordered, see it at home — a free sample of Ochre Oak is the reliable test.
