Floors for Chorleywood homes

What we fit in Chorleywood, and why engineered oak suits the houses here.

Engineered oak flooring in a Chorleywood home

Chorleywood has Arts and Crafts houses around the common, Metroland semis from the 1920s and 30s, and large family homes on the edge of the Chilterns. Period houses suit herringbone in the hall and wide plank through the living rooms; extensions call for engineered oak over underfloor heating.

We supply and fit across Chorleywood (WD3) and nearby Loudwater, Heronsgate, Chenies, Rickmansworth and Little Chalfont. Every floor is fitted by our own team, who have worked with us for over eleven years, and every board we sell is suitable for underfloor heating.

See our wood flooring in Chorleywood page for restoration, sanding and staircases, or wood flooring across Hertfordshire.

Common questions from homeowners in Chorleywood.

Ask Us Anything →

Do you supply and fit engineered oak flooring in Chorleywood?

Yes. We supply engineered oak flooring throughout Chorleywood and nearby Loudwater, Heronsgate, Chenies, Rickmansworth and Little Chalfont, and our own fitting team installs it. You can also buy the floor supply-only for your own builder.

How long does an engineered oak floor take in Chorleywood?

Stocked floors are typically two to three weeks from payment to delivery. The boards then acclimatise in the house for two to three days before fitting, and most rooms are laid in a day or two. Bespoke colours take longer; we confirm the lead time when we quote.

Can engineered oak go over underfloor heating?

Yes. Every engineered oak floor we supply is suitable for underfloor heating. We glue it down over the heated screed so it sits in full contact and the heat passes through evenly.

What thickness of engineered oak do I need?

Most homes suit a 14mm or 15mm board with a 3mm or 4mm oak layer. Where the floor height is already set by a screed or existing thresholds, a 20mm board with a 5mm or 6mm oak layer is the better choice.

Can I see samples before choosing a floor for my Chorleywood home?

Yes. We post free samples to Chorleywood, so you can compare floors in your own light. Order samples here.
