Dark Brown Oak is an engineered European oak floor, supplied at 14mm × 90mm × 510mm in classic grade. In tone it reads as a rich, warm brown oak with plenty of depth. The dark brown brushed & oiled finish sets its character underfoot. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is laid board by board by our own installation team across London and the South East.

Chevron is the most architectural of the patterns — these 90mm boards land in precise points that give the floor direction and intent. Classic grade sits in the middle of the tree's character — some knots and movement, but measured, so the floor feels natural without shouting.

The finish, and living with it A floor is its finish as much as its tone: here the dark brown brushed & oiled treatment sets how Dark Brown Oak handles daily life. An oiled surface feeds the timber rather than coating it, so the grain stays open to the touch; maintenance is an occasional re-oil in the areas that work hardest.

Engineered construction keeps the boards stable through central heating and seasonal swings, and the wear layer is thick enough to be re-finished when, years from now, it has earned it.

Rooms it suits, and the next step We fit it most often through reception rooms and open-plan spaces, where the arrows can run the length of the room. See more on our chevron flooring in London page. It belongs to the Signature Collection. If you are shortlisting, put Invisible Natural Oak and Smoked Rocky Grey Oak beside it for comparison.

Before anything is ordered, see it at home — a free sample of Dark Brown Oak is the reliable test.
