Deep Brown Herringbone Reclaimed Victorian Oak Blocks

Deep Brown Herringbone is reclaimed Victorian oak in a dark, deep brown, cut into traditional 70 × 350mm parquet blocks, with the patina and worn edges of more than a century of use. In herringbone it has the gravitas of an old library or club floor. It suits studies, dining rooms and formal hallways in period houses, and looks best with good light and pale walls.

The hardwax oil on Deep Brown Herringbone combines an oiled appearance with more day-to-day resistance, and it can be spot-repaired. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is set into a herringbone pattern by our own installation team across London and the South East, and supplied throughout the UK.

Some floors photograph well and disappoint underfoot; Deep Brown Herringbone — Reclaimed Oak does the opposite — it gets better the longer you live on it. The surface carries its years lightly: worn smooth where hands and feet have been, textured where they have not.

This is salvaged, not styled — the nail holes, patina and uneven tone are decades old and arrive with the boards. Laid as reclaimed oak, hand-graded board by board, it turns the floor itself into the room’s main design move.
