Iron Bark is a dark, charcoal-brown — rugged and earthy, a deep, grounded tone with the weathered character its name suggests. It brings strength and depth to a floor while keeping a natural, unpolished feel.
Reserve Iron Bark for rooms that can carry it — generous, well-lit spaces where a dark floor reads as luxurious rather than heavy. It rewards a considered scheme with real presence and depth. It is available across Rustic, Character and Prime grades, so you can choose anything from lively, knotty movement to a clean, near-uniform look.
As a bespoke colour, Iron Bark is produced on engineered European oak in plank and herringbone formats to your specification. It is underfloor-heating compatible, comes with a 25-year structural warranty, and is made in Britain from FSC- and PEFC-certified timber. We post free swatch samples anywhere in the UK, so you can judge Iron Bark against your walls and furniture first. Beneath the oak surface sits a cross-ply engineered core that holds the board stable through seasonal change, while the generous wear layer leaves room for future sanding and refinishing.
Iron Bark is finished to order, which means the surface is part of the choice: brushed and oiled for an open, tactile grain, or matt-lacquered for a harder-wearing, easy-care finish. Where the colour needs to meet an existing floor or a particular brief, we tune the tone by hand and finish in the room itself so nothing is left to chance.
