Whitewashed Oak is an engineered European oak herringbone floor, cut at 14mm × 150mm × 600mm and graded classic. In tone it reads as a pale, light-filled oak that keeps rooms bright and airy. The white washed b&lacquered finish sets its character underfoot. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is laid board by board by our own installation team across London and the South East.
Herringbone rewards patience in the laying, and these 150mm blocks are cut for exactly that — crisp points, tight joints, a floor with rhythm. Classic grade sits in the middle of the tree's character — some knots and movement, but measured, so the floor feels natural without shouting.
The finish, and living with it A floor is its finish as much as its tone: here the white washed b&lacquered treatment sets how Whitewashed Oak handles daily life. A lacquered surface seals the timber, so day-to-day care is simply a vacuum and a damp — never wet — mop with a pH-neutral wood cleaner.
It stands up well to real family life; deeper wear in later years is dealt with by re-finishing rather than patching. Underfloor heating is no obstacle — the boards are rated for it and hold their shape as the seasons turn.
Rooms it suits, and the next step We fit it most often through hallways, reception rooms and kitchens — anywhere the pattern can run and be seen. See more on our herringbone flooring in London page. It belongs to the Signature Collection. If you are shortlisting, put Soft White Oak and Natural Oak beside it for comparison.
Before anything is ordered, see it at home — a free sample of Whitewashed Oak is the reliable test.
