Every chevron floor here is 90 × 510mm, in prime and classic grades.

Chevron or herringbone?

Both are zig-zag patterns; the difference is in the ends of the blocks.

Block ends cut at an angle, so they meet in a straight point

What is chevron flooring?

Chevron flooring is laid in a zig-zag of blocks whose ends are cut at an angle, so each row meets in a continuous point, like an arrow.

Is chevron more expensive than herringbone?

The blocks are cut differently but the floor is usually comparable in price. Both take longer to lay than planks.

Can chevron go over underfloor heating?

Yes. Engineered oak chevron is glued down over the heated screed and is suitable for underfloor heating.

Which way should chevron flooring run?

Usually along the length of the room or hallway, with the points leading towards the main window or the far end, which makes the room feel longer.
