Herringbone — Invisible Finish is an engineered European oak herringbone block, supplied at 14mm × 143mm × 600mm in prime grade, for a tighter, more uniform look. In tone it reads as a versatile oak tone that works across period and contemporary rooms. The invisible finish keeps the oak looking raw and untouched. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is set into a herringbone pattern by our own installation team across London and the South East.

Rooms change around a floor like Herringbone Invisible Finish 143×600 — Engineered Oak; it is the one surface every plan, paint chart and furniture order eventually answers to. Underfoot it has the solidity of real oak with the stability engineered construction brings.

This is cut to prime grade, so the surface stays clean and continuous, with barely a knot to interrupt it. Choose the format for the architecture: 143×600mm herringbone blocks gives period rooms the rhythm they were built around.

Finish & everyday care What ages a floor is rarely the oak — it is the surface. The invisible-finish finish here is picked for the long game. Invisible finish means protection you cannot see: an ultra-matt treatment that leaves the oak looking freshly sanded and bare. Use the matched care products we supply and the raw look holds for years. Rated for underfloor heating and unbothered by central heating’s dry months, it holds flat where solid boards would move.

Where it works — and what to do next It runs happily through open-plan layouts and busy family rooms alike; wet rooms are the one place to talk to us first. Herringbone rewards proper setting-out — our herringbone flooring installation in London team lays it to a centred, snapped line, never off a wall. You will find it in the Design Collection.

Sample it against Herringbone Invisible Finish Prime Ab 90X450 — the usual head-to-head — with Herringbone Brushed Matt Lacquered Prime Ab 125X600 as the outside option.

Shortlists end the same way: a free Herringbone Invisible Finish 143×600 — Engineered Oak sample on the floor for a weekend.

This pattern is also made as a smaller 90×450 block in prime AB grade — the choice between them is room scale, not quality.
