Herringbone — Brushed Matt Lacquered is an engineered European oak herringbone block, supplied at 14mm × 125mm × 600mm in prime grade, for a tighter, more uniform look. In tone it reads as a versatile oak tone that works across period and contemporary rooms.

The brushed, matt lacquered finish is hard-wearing and low-maintenance, well suited to busy homes. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is set into a herringbone pattern by our own installation team across London and the South East.

On paper Herringbone Brushed Matt Lacquered 125×600 — Engineered Oak is a specification. In a room, it sets the temperature of everything around it. Underfoot, the brushing opens the grain so you feel the timber, not a coating. This is prime AB: clean-faced boards with the occasional pin knot to remind you it grew in a forest. As 125×600mm herringbone blocks, it sets a rhythm underfoot that plain planks never quite manage.

Caring for the surface On Herringbone Brushed Matt Lacquered 125×600 — Engineered Oak the matt-lacquered surface is the part you will be grateful for in year five — it decides how the floor wears, cleans and mellows. The sealed lacquer surface asks very little — sweep, then a damp (never soaking) mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.

It shrugs off everyday spills, and when it eventually tires it is re-finished across the room in one pass. It runs happily over underfloor heating — see the specification above — and stays flat through the heating season.

Where to lay it, and how to decide We fit it most often through living spaces, kitchens and hallways — the rooms that have to look good under real use. Herringbone rewards proper setting-out — our herringbone flooring installation in London team lays it to a centred, snapped line, never off a wall. It sits within the Design Collection.

Two floors people weigh against it: Herringbone Invisible Finish Prime Grade 143X600, a close relation, and Herringbone White Oiled Prime Ab 90X450, the counter-argument.
