Chestnut Oak is an engineered European oak floor, supplied at 14mm × 190mm × 1900mm in rustic grade, full of natural movement. In tone it reads as a warm, deep brown oak with plenty of depth. The brushed, matt lacquered finish is hard-wearing and low-maintenance, well suited to busy homes. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is laid plank by plank by our own installation team across London and the South East.

Chestnut Oak is the kind of floor you choose by standing on it, not by scrolling past it. Underfoot, the brushing opens the grain so you feel the timber, not a coating. This is a balanced grade with a natural, believable spread of character. The format — 190mm wide planks — stretches rooms and suits open-plan spaces.

Caring for the surface The lacquered finish is doing quiet work here: protection first, but tuned so the oak still looks like oak. A lacquered surface seals the timber, so day-to-day care is simply a vacuum and a damp — never wet — mop with a pH-neutral wood cleaner.

It resists spills well; deeper wear in later years is dealt with by re-finishing rather than patching. It is suitable over underfloor heating, and stable through the seasonal swings that trouble ordinary solid timber.

Where to lay it, and how to decide It runs happily through open-plan layouts and busy family rooms alike; wet rooms are the one place to talk to us first. If long, uninterrupted boards are the goal, our wide plank flooring in London page shows this format across full projects. It belongs to the Signature Collection. Not quite the tone you pictured? Scandinavian Natural Oak sits close by with a different temperature, and Black Pearl Oak takes the Signature Collection in another direction.
