American Oak Spring Rye is an engineered European oak floor, supplied at 14mm × 190mm × 1900mm in prime grade, for a tighter, more uniform look. In tone it reads as a characterful oak tone with natural movement and grain variation.
The uv oiled finish is easy to live with and can be refreshed or spot-repaired in place rather than fully re-sanded. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is laid plank by plank by our own installation team across London and the South East.
American Oak Spring Rye earns its place the slow way — morning light, bare feet, ten thousand ordinary days. Underfoot it has the solidity of real oak with the stability engineered construction brings. This is a balanced grade with a natural, believable spread of character. The 190mm wide planks format is the quiet decision here — it opens smaller rooms and settles larger ones.
The finish, and living with it A floor is its finish as much as its tone: here the natural-finished treatment sets how American Oak Spring Rye handles daily life. Think of oil as feeding the timber rather than coating it. Marks blend out with a cloth and maintenance oil; the floor never needs stripping back to bare wood to look new again. Underfloor heating is no obstacle here; the boards are rated for it and hold their shape as the seasons turn.
Rooms it suits, and the next step From front door to kitchen island it copes with real family traffic; only full bathrooms need a conversation first. You can see this width across whole rooms on our wide plank flooring in London page. It belongs to the Prime Grade Collection. If you are shortlisting, put American Oak Natural beside it for a warmer/cooler comparison, and American Oak Summer Melon for contrast.
