Nassau Oak is an engineered European oak floor, supplied at 14mm × 190mm × 1900mm in rustic grade, full of natural movement. In tone it reads as a characterful oak tone with natural movement and grain variation.

The brushed, hardwax oiled finish is easy to live with and can be refreshed or spot-repaired in place rather than fully re-sanded. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is laid plank by plank by our own installation team across London and the South East.

Rooms change around a floor like Nassau Oak; it is the one surface every plan, paint chart and furniture order eventually answers to. Underfoot, the brushing opens the grain so you feel the timber, not a coating.

This is graded rustic, which means the knots and mineral streaks stay in; the boards are meant to differ, and that variety is what makes the floor feel real. Choose the format for the architecture: 190mm wide planks draws long sight-lines through connected spaces.

Caring for the surface What ages a floor is rarely the oak — it is the surface. The oiled finish here is picked for the long game. Because the oil penetrates the wood, repairs stay small — treat the worn spot, not the whole floor. Routine care is a soap-clean and, in the busiest rooms, an occasional feed of maintenance oil. Rated for underfloor heating and unbothered by central heating’s dry months, it holds flat where solid boards would move.

Where to lay it, and how to decide Hallways, kitchens, sitting rooms, whole ground floors — this is a floor for the rooms you actually use; ask us before specifying it in a bathroom. If long, uninterrupted boards are the goal, our wide plank flooring in London page shows this format across full projects. You will find it in the Signature Collection. Sample it against Natural Oak UV Lacquered — the usual head-to-head — with Natural Oak Brushed Oiled as the outside option.

Shortlists end the same way: a free Nassau Oak sample on the floor for a weekend.
