Supplied at 14mm × 90mm × 400mm, Arden Scandinavian is an engineered European oak floor in classic grade. In tone it reads as a true natural oak tone — the timber as it wants to be seen. The invisible UV oiled finish sets its character underfoot. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is laid board by board by our own installation team across London and the South East.
Herringbone rewards patience in the laying, and these 90mm blocks are cut for exactly that — crisp points, tight joints, a floor with rhythm. Classic grade sits in the middle of the tree's character — some knots and movement, but measured, so the floor feels natural without shouting.
The finish, and living with it A floor is its finish as much as its tone: here the invisible UV oiled treatment sets how Arden Scandinavian handles daily life. An oiled surface feeds the timber rather than coating it, so the grain stays open to the touch; maintenance is an occasional re-oil in the areas that work hardest.
It stands up well to real family life; deeper wear in later years is dealt with by re-finishing rather than patching. Underfloor heating is no obstacle — the boards are rated for it and hold their shape as the seasons turn.
Rooms it suits, and the next step We fit it most often through hallways, reception rooms and kitchens — anywhere the pattern can run and be seen. See more on our herringbone flooring in London page. It belongs to the Timeless Line. If you are shortlisting, put Delamere Heritage and Arden Heritage beside it for comparison.
Before anything is ordered, see it at home — a free sample of Arden Scandinavian is the reliable test.
