Delamere Desert is an engineered European oak herringbone floor, cut at 14mm × 125mm × 600mm and graded classic. In tone it reads as a true natural oak tone — the timber as it wants to be seen. The brushed & matt lacquered finish sets its character underfoot. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is laid board by board by our own installation team across London and the South East.
Laid in herringbone, the 125mm blocks catch light in two directions at once — the pattern does half the decorating for you. Classic grade sits in the middle of the tree's character — some knots and movement, but measured, so the floor feels natural without shouting.
The finish, and living with it A floor is its finish as much as its tone: here the brushed & matt lacquered treatment sets how Delamere Desert handles daily life. A lacquered surface seals the timber, so day-to-day care is simply a vacuum and a damp — never wet — mop with a pH-neutral wood cleaner.
It stands up well to real family life; deeper wear in later years is dealt with by re-finishing rather than patching. Underfloor heating is no obstacle — the boards are rated for it and hold their shape as the seasons turn.
Rooms it suits, and the next step We fit it most often through hallways, reception rooms and kitchens — anywhere the pattern can run and be seen. See more on our herringbone flooring in London page. It belongs to the Timeless Line. If you are shortlisting, put Delamere Heritage and Arden Scandinavian beside it for comparison.
Before anything is ordered, see it at home — a free sample of Delamere Desert is the reliable test.
