American Oak Herringbone Cool Grey is an engineered European oak herringbone block, supplied at 14mm × 90mm × 450mm in prime grade, for a tighter, more uniform look. In tone it reads as a cool, contemporary grey-toned oak. The brushed, uv lacquered finish is hard-wearing and low-maintenance, well suited to busy homes. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is set into a herringbone pattern by our own installation team across London and the South East.
American Oak Herringbone Cool Grey earns its place the slow way — morning light, bare feet, ten thousand ordinary days. The wear layer is real oak; beneath it, the engineered core keeps every board flat and true. This is a balanced grade with a natural, believable spread of character. The 90×450mm herringbone blocks format is the quiet decision here — geometry doing the decorating.
Surface, upkeep, honesty A floor is its finish as much as its tone: here the natural-finished treatment sets how American Oak Herringbone Cool Grey handles daily life. Day to day, an oiled floor wants very little: dry dust, a wood-soap mop when needed.
What it gives back is repairability — a single tired board or traffic lane can be re-oiled on its own, invisibly. Underfloor heating is no obstacle here; the boards are rated for it and hold their shape as the seasons turn.
The rooms, and the decision It runs happily through open-plan layouts and busy family rooms alike; wet rooms are the one place to talk to us first. Pattern floors live or die by the setting-out; see how our herringbone flooring installers in London approach it. It belongs to the Prime Grade Collection.
If you are shortlisting, put American Oak Herringbone Mellow beside it for a warmer/cooler comparison, and American Oak Herringbone Pale Ash for contrast.
